European Trips
#1
I'm trying to put together a list of all the major European trips that have been organsed over the years. For my purposes, the list starts in 1974 with the Monte Carlo run, then 1976 to San Marino, then I'm sure the next was Andorra - was this '78? Lichtenstein was '84 I think, but there was also a 5 European Capitals trip that I recall. I'm just trying to recall ones that happened before the Berlin trip in 2002

Can anyone with a better memory than me, help out?

thanks!

I went on a Monte Carlo A7 run in 1979 with Vince Leek sharing his 1929 Chummy, I think this was a follow up to the first run.

Edit, I have scanned some photos from this event, I'll see if I can look them up.

Found a pic... the second Monte Carlo was in 1980 according to the rally plaque, not 1979. I look even grumpier than usual in this shot, perhaps Vince has just told me off once again for driving his Chummy as if it were my special Smile

Luxemburg in 1964 and Ireland in 1968 (I think there was a trip in 1966 too).

PWA7C ran trips to Holland in 1992, Ireland in 1994, France in 1997 and Holland again in 2000. There was also a long weekend to Holland in 2003. First two were organised by the late Dave Cooper, the second two and the long weekend by my Wife and myself.

The Bristol Club started with a 1971 trip to Ireland and then various Continental tours from 1974, the latter was my first trip abroad aged one.

I thought I had a 5 capitals plaque... but that must have been on CEV711

750 North Herts did one or more weekend trips to meet up with the Tacot Club Calaisienne. Probably mid to late '80s.

The August page of my PWA7C calendar is titled 'Switzerland Holiday Laussane, 1966'
I can see that Neville Barr was certainly there!
