Found some further comments on using a lip seal.
So have one on order .

Just hoping I may in time to stop you hitting the back of the pulley or trying to use a puller. The safest way to remove the pulley is by using a brass drift on one of the spokes and giving it a firm circumferential tap. I learned this the hard way 60 odd years ago!

Spent some time trying to buy a lip seal.
However the one that arrived was useless
I did locate another but it did fit the pulley but was about 1mm small on Dia. for the cover.
I think I will fit the felt seal with careful attention to advice!
Also run into another problem
But will post this on another heading
PS pulley came the next day after ordering

That looks OK to me. At least that’s how I’ve fitted the seal in the past. Remember to soak the seal in oil overnight.
