Austin: not Willys or Datsun - neither had their origins in the Seven.
Willys was a well-established company that, together with Ford, were awarded the US Government contract to build the Bantam 'Jeep' because their lobbying voice was greater.
Contrary to the urban myth, the Datsun of the 1930s owed nothing to the Austin, other than they possibly shared the same coachbuilder which resulted in a superficially similar shape.
