Time Warp Fabric Saloon
#1
There's a very original fabric saloon on carandclassic, at an eye watering price.  Similar to the one I used to own, so original as to be unusable.
Sorry but I can't do the clever link thing!

Nice looking thing

Interesting they have moved the head lights at some point in time.

Shame it’s got such an unrealistic price

This is the car that came from Spain and caused some excitement a while back.

Nutley is close to me, that particular dealer seems to have high prices but still going so it obviously works for them.

A lovely car - and professionally "preserved" as in the previous very interesting link https://www.julianparkerltd.uk/the-1928-...-austin-7/ Even so, it's not useable - but is ideal for somebody to store in one of those air-conditioned bags used to store that low-mileage-never-driven-in-the-rain- Ferrari/Porsche/McLaren/Lamborghini/etc
To see the remarkable care taken in the preservation and the before and after pictures, it's almost worth joining Facebook if you don't already belong: https://www.facebook.com/julianparkerltd
Here they are anyway - with more available at this DropBox: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/3vhkuxecg7qv4...Hhg8ki-Nlo

DropBox can be confusing for some so, in the following twelve posts can be found the complete set of images taken by the restoration team at Julian Parker https://www.julianparkerltd.uk/  Don't forget that the images displayed are just thumbnails; for high-resolution copies click the picture - and then click again.

thats fascinating, thank you... having a 7 myself but no idea really what an original looked like and super clear photos can get a better idea...

Nutley SC have been in business for years, every so often gets something very unusual in... always been expensive, always sells, still around - sounds like a good business plan to me .............

cheers
M

Just seen the price don't think its silly.. plenty of other 7's around over 20K

If you keep a close eye on car & Classic https://www.carandclassic.com/classic_ca...ar_to=1940 (etc) and log over a couple of years the arrival and removal of Austin 7s, you'll find that very little appears to sell for over £16,000. Some adverts I've tracked for Chummies at £20,000 + have been displayed, disappeared and reappeared for over 18 months. Of course, that's not to say that somebody with little knowledge of a Seven - but plenty of spare cash - might just be tempted with an impulse buy. Prices asked for used cars will always create, in response, a great variety of interesting emotions and widely different opinions.

I’m not sure how I feel about this car. On one hand it’s gorgeous, but o the other it’s totally useless for what most people want in an Austin Seven. It’s too far gone to use, yet it would be a shame to restore it. I’m glad it’s not going to be my decision.

The car is delightful but has the same issues as other examples like the Fred Dash Cup Model, for example, what on Earth do you do with it?

The most important thing to have is the photos, very useful indeed.
