In a previous life at work. I found that some stainless screw clips parted company as the screw was not stainless. It was a hostile environment warm with full immersion. Worth checking. Pete

I prefer the Norma brand of Jubilee style clips. Good quality, albeit not for purists of Enots or the wire type hose clip. Must confess I am talking of a modern car (1961!).

I find Enots clips work perfectly when they are the correct size, unfortunately some A7 supplies sell then too large to clamp our size hoses properly. I have never had one break on me but I guess if you keep overtightening a poorly fitting one in an attempt to stop leaks there is a chance you will stress it.
