Good morning chaps,
can anyone recommend a good supplier of pre-war nuts & bolts ... rather odd ones like domed headed bolt - not screw (mushroom head) and as long as 60mm and 7mm dia..
its for a pre-war alfa woodwork..
Many thanks in advance
Matt

Try E.C. Pitcher, 206 Stafford St Walsall. WS2 8DW. 01922 622523. No website but I have always obtained everything I needed there. An old fashioned tool merchant.

Spalding Fasteners have a large selection. Sometimes difficult to find what required on website but very helpful on phone.
Do you need a domed headed bolt to screw into metal through a hole in the woodl? Will need thread type and size for them to search.
Alternative would be to find hex head bolt and file head to rounded form and cut a slot with saw.
Depending on strength required roofing bolts come in many sizes....and shallow domed slotted or cross headed
Bolt; machine screw; wood screw.......the right terminology will help.

Hi Matt
I find that eBay is a useful search engine when it comes to nuts and bolts. Namrick, Spalding and others all have eBay shops. If you can’t get it on eBay then Google normally finds a specialist seller. One thing to watch for is the exact steel spec you want for the item. For example many Nyloc type nuts are not high tensile so you need to clarify with the seller.

Hello Smiley, You could have picked a company with a better sounding name.
John Mason.
Would you believe it "Her who must be obeyed" refers to my Ruby as the toy.

Hi Smiley — I’d like to know more about older type screws. Could you flesh this out a bit please?

Found everything on Spalding 's website and easy to search / order ... so I guess at the end of the day a good website pays off...
thanks again..
