It's not punishment, it's what every non-EU country has to do. We are now a non-EU body and must comply with regulations as any non-member would... this is what some of us asked for.
What used to be seamless trade for me between Italy and UK is now a bit sticky and inconveniently involves a VAT element which is all a bit of a bugger as far as my business is concerned.

Perhaps you could collect my pewter from Brescia and bring to a half-way point and we could meet... I need some Italian conversation practice, my Italian is getting rusty from lack of use ;-0

It's not just Brexit affecting things of course. I have had a ParcelForce package sitting waiting to be exported from the UK to NZ for over a month now. No indication of when that might even leave the UK least alone arrive here. All they could tell me was delivery service guarantees have all been suspended then pointed me at the web site which makes no mention of NZ at all. It's an expensive, custom made, essential car part so I am worried it will just disappear out of the system and be gone at some point. I suspect once (if?) it does arrive it'll be held up in NZ customs for another month while they work out what tax I need to pay on it!
A friend in NI recently told me all the prices of car related things there has shot up and things suddenly became harder to get.
Oh, and I wish people wouldn't put just someone's name alone in the subject of posts. Usually that indicates they are no longer with us and I got a shock when I saw David's name here!

Here's some cheerful news. I recently received an A7 door handle in Auckland about two weeks after David Cochrane posted it. That's about the normal delivery time for a small parcel.
Cheers

Enough of this cheery nonsense...We want more misery!!!
I have 5 sheets of tinplate "lost in transit" by myHermes somewhere between Redditch and Boroughbridge. I used to have an account with them until they lost a mint pair of seven headlamps I'd sold and shipped with them.
Could be worse but it's very frustrating and I can see it's going to cost me as the shipper didn't insure the package adequately. Doh!

Tony Griffiths, those phones are tempting. I have to admit that I didn't get a smart phone until 2019. I was still using a flip phone up until then.
As far as shipping goes, here on the left coast of the USA, we have dozens of container ships anchored awaiting room to unload. And there aren't enough trucks(lorries) and drivers to deliver the containers. That and food prices are up 30% in some cases.
