The point that needs emphasising is that only a THIN smear of the Loctite 5920 is required. A tube lasts me about 10 years. Before anyone else mentions it, I don't make a tube of toothpaste last a year!

Alan - I use grease because it does the job, it's cheap and there's always a tub on the bench! As for a torque wrench, I do own one, but I suppose I was brought up old school to do it by feel. I have checked my efforts once or twice and have been pleasantly surprised. I haven't suffered a blown head gasket in almost 50 years.
