Torque Setting Centre Main Bearing Cap
#11
HI,
Before fitting Block to crankcase both surfaces (MUST be flat) not just cleaned, check with a Straight and feeler gauge.
Other wise you will pull the crankcase out of line.

PS If crankcase has to be machined it must be setup with a bar locating on on the front and rear bearings not by just using a DTI on the Top Face because it needs to be parallel with the crankshaft.

All assembled.

Cleaned and coated with assembly lubricant. Tightened "wrist tight" and housing tapped gently with copper hammer. DTI set up to measure crankshaft deflection. Tightened to 30ft/lbs. Barest flicker of movement on the DTI: could even have been vibration of the crankcase causing it, and everything spins freely without any apparent tight spots.

Thank you for the help.

Regards,

Jamie.
