All Alloy Cup progress
When I was looking at Cup Models originally, I went to visit Rodney Griffin and he offered for me to sit in his car. The hood was up at the time but I persevered. All I can say is that, if there is a knack to it then I don’t have it.

The hood had to come down so I could get out.

I always found with the ulster that the best way was to raise the roof after entry.

Hi Peter,

I was out in the garage today to finish off
the templates and yes I attempted getting
in with the paper hood still up. I have a deep dished
steering wheel which is the controlling factor.

I have a 34” waistline and it just fits between
the steering wheel and the B post edge of the
door aperture. I’m about 5’ 10” plus size 9 in shoes

I reckon I’m on the limit of getting in, getting out is
Also a bit tricky and involves some yoga moves!!

I’ll try holding the iPhone camera tomorrow!!!
While I get in and out.

Regards

Yes, pictures please Bill, and I hope you don't mind if we laugh just a little bit...

If you get stuck, Bill, I will have a word with my pal Peter Wright (AKA The Yorkshire Vet).  He will have one of those jack devices to help pull large calfs out of heifers.  It's usually a bit messy!

As Requested proof that entry to a GE Cup, with hood up, is
possible for A7 drivers with 34” waist and 5’ 10” tall,
Size 9 in shoes.

I also have a video but have forgotten how to
Post these, small enough for the Forum.

I’ve now taken off the paper patterns and
as today is wet and miserable, working in the warm sitting room,
I’m using the patterns to mark the fabric , for cutting,
plus marking on the selvedges and approx sewing lines with tailor’s chalk.

More photos later.

Did you see the notice that over 300 folk in DVLA have Covid.

Due to get a letter this week telling me where to get my jag( jab in Scottish)

Keep safe for later motoring!

Ps can we please have photos of Malcolm Parker,  in a big coat entering
His unique handcrafted Pytchley A7 saloon?

Imagine Dudley Moore as  Lt. Kit Barrington getting into the Lea Francis/Dawlish in 'Monte Carlo or Bust' and you'll be pretty much there, Bill Big Grin Big Grin

I used to pride myself in being able to get in and out of the Ulster with the hood up, not sure I could still do it...

Hi Ruairidh

Wriggling over that hot exhaust must be tricky when
you’re wearing your kilt? But then you are an adopted Scotsman!

Steve Jones has beaten Malcolm to the post ,
possibly having his afternoon nap? Steve?

All the best

Impressive set of photos, Bill, but they don't show you getting out again. Presumably you have your laptop in the Cup with you, and all meals are now served in the garage?

Hi Mike

Actually I do have photos of me getting out!
But by this time I thought folk would be beginning to get bored?

Dinner is being served as we speak. The Butler has just rung the gong. ???
