Hi Chris, just out of interest where did you get these numbers from?

The photo wasn't taken in 1931, my mistake. It was 1934 as far as we know.

As someone who spent a career making films, the photograph depicting the car with the lake in the bg is clearly hand tinted. An excellent job by the way. But may not depict the actual color of the car. Depending on the filters that may have used, as well as the stock, the translation to black and white can vary dramatically with monochromatic films. In the early days, using a heavy orange filter, such as an 80A, would render the lips almost milk white.
