Photographs from the Summer of 1939

A delightful set of photographs taken in the East of England, including Norfolk, Boston and Lincoln; well worth five minutes of your time.

Mainly featuring a Morris Eight, but a couple of shots of Sevens, an R saloon in Boston, and a 2-seater/Opal on the quay at Kings Lynn:

When I click the lower photo, it says Kings Lyn - For my money its Wells Next to the Sea.

You may well be correct, Bob; Kings Lynn was my first guess, but thinking about it the Customs House should be visible, and it isn't, so perhaps it's not Lynn.

Lovely photos. Colour or tinted subsequently?

Anyone recognize the church at 1.04? I think we used to have a black & white picture of our Ruby in the same spot.

Definitely Wells, I spent 2 summers working there in the 1970s

The church at 1.04 is in Upper Sheringham. And, yes, having checked, the second photo I posted is definitely Wells.

Thank you Mike, that makes sense as my folks used to holiday around Sheringham.
