White Faced Lucas Instruments
#1
A general question out of curiosity, rather than a Seven-related one.

I know that they were never fitted to Sevens, but does anyone know when Lucas started to produce their white or magnolia faced instruments?

Regards,

Jamie.

Circa 1935 ?

Ammeters on SM3 switch panels were white faced up to the middle/end of 1927 or so. They coincided with silver faced Smiths speedometers ("A" type).

The changeover date is very unclear to me although by early 1928, the instruments were both in the centre of the dash and carried black faces. The speedo had become a Lucas PA.
