Don't worry Ruairidh - some of us have been keeping up standards. A group of us went out on a run this morning (to celebrate me becoming a pensioner today) and  one of the cars developed serious clutch slip after we'd gone down Hustyn Hill, which will be familiar to Land's End triallers from the past. If it had been after going UP  the hill I could understand it. We all managed to get to the pub for lunch though. Alan was then escorted home by someone who'd turned up in a modern and is looking forward to a suitably oily Christmas.
Happy Christmas to you and the girls and of course to everyone on here!

I din’t mind me being in the picture Alastair - Tanya however is a little embarrassed about her facial hair, despite being a keen cyclist!

While I am enjoying the humour on this thread, poor old Bobs thread seems to have no attention paid despite the importance.

I knew a chap in the 70s who had a bad accident in a Nippy due to steering failure, his girlfriend passenger didn't fare to well having hit a laminated Windscreen .

I have recently read of dressing out cracks, polishing, and reusing,I for one definitely would not go there!

The steering arms from David Cochrane are stronger than the original and excellent value at £55.
We are saving on not having an MOT, so not much more to buy a steering arm and keep our cars and ourselves safe.

I rather like the fabricated steering arm on one of John Miles Cars, being longer it will make the steering easier as well. I know not everyone has the skill or equipment to make their own, but here's a photo of said part.Lots of other very nice items on this car as many of you will know.

Sorry David, I meant £75

Brilliant !

Zeto,

I don't think John would have made his own steering arm either.

Not his style.

Tony.

To quote Flanders and Swann,
"She woke up next morning, at home in her bed with a smile on lips and an ache in her head,
And a beard in her ear-hole which tickled and said, have some Madeira m'dear!"

You've not been a member long enough to understand why that is!

In that case might I suggest Bob sets up a crowd funding page and gives us all new steering arms, we would all be very pleased and live happily ever after
