Tony, my guess it is a welded joint, I’m sure Joss will confirm, beautiful work, anyone would be very proud to have this on their car.

Colin - I thought it must have been welded but the finish was soo good !

Firstly, thank you for the positive comments.

As Colin noted it is a welded joint, taking several sessions with gas and files.
Howard: the only pivot is at the base of the stick, fulcrum part way up, so pull stick back, shaft goes forward,
thus standard gate.
Robert: yes, lock out filed off selector.
and Atho... yes my PA did a wonderful job, but as Ian isn't here I've had to post this myself.
