Nippy vs Ruby Chassis
#1
Are there a lot of differences in the two chassis?
I have a 65/Nippy and the chassis has been replaced at some stage.
This was done before bringing to Oz.
Thanks in advance for all comments and replies.
Cheers,Peter

Yes, there is a lot of difference, a Nippy chassis is closer to an RN chassis than it is a Ruby, still a few mods required to get an RN chassis correct though.

What is interesting is there is a lot of ambiguity in the VSCC form over this.
They shouldn't really be using 'replica' in point 4, should they - rather 'pastiche', otherwise we end up with cars like the one being discussed on the other thread?

Splendid, with its correct low frame chassis, my Ruby should be PVT eligible! Ooops, no it's not, the LED lights mean it is wholly unacceptable.

Ruby? P and V sorted. T?

All made in Longbridge, so rather more thoroughbred than certain competitors' products assembled from bits bought in from a variety of sources! Our Austins really are rather well bred. Those adapted for trialing are pretty good at leaping over hedges, gates and stiles as well.
