I think that will be "Vintage Austin Register"

They did not buy it, but it went for from memory around the £26K.

I have a similar Austin crank out of Kay Petre's side-valve Jamieson car. I use it as a lamp base.

Interesting base lamp! Indeed....
All informations I get about Mr JoJo are in concordance ...Mr JoJo has been destroyed . Maybe the mechanical components/spares have been re-used into other cars after the Vic Derrington's accident (1932) All informations I get about Mr JoJo are in concordance ...Mr JoJo has been destroyed . Does it have telescopic shock absorbers on the rear axle?
Bill G Ps tyre tread pretty worn too?

It certainly looks as if the rear shock absorbers are non standard. There appears to be a steel angle bracket clamped to the axle tube with the bottom end of the shock absorber attached. All looks a bit Heath Robinson but if it worked what the hell?
The photo also shows that the bodywork was somewhat battered at the back end. I recall that there is another photo of the car from the front off-side which shows a small oval plate attached to the side of the scuttle, possibly a coachbuilding firms plate. Is the driver with fag in mouth Capt Chase or Vic Derrington? Judging by the state of the car I would guess the latter. By all accounts he was a bit of a cad! I believe he started the Derrington firm that sold tuning parts that continued into the 1960's, latterly specialising in Mini tuning. I would also speculate that the rear shock absorber set up was made by Derrington rather than Capt Chase? Good thread, we are building up a better picture of Mr Jo-Jo.

According to the photo tag it's - Miss JKL Alwynne, a motor mechanic at Brooklands - think she also drove possibly an Ulster?

Miss J. Alwynne and probably not Chase's car or Mr JoJo
