Yes David it's a solo trip. I had originally proposed this journey a couple of years ago and then a couple of mates from the UK decided they wanted to "help" and it all got far too complicated in terms of logistics, a back-up car with trailer etc, so I called it off. I just want to jump in the car and set off. I know it's a challenge (that's the point) but I'm sure that both the car and I will be fine.

Whilst there's an object to the journey I'm a bit like Robert Louis Stevenson (who passed this way with a donkey in 1879) " I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move".
