There is one with a Honda CX 500 engine. Why not go the whole "hog" and bung in a Triumph Rocket III.

A four cylinder Brough Superior engine would work a treat!

I have some sympathy for the idea. I like the idea of the CX500 engine for my Speedex. 50bhp for about 500 quid? The 4 cylinder Brough Superior engine is likely to be 10+ times that cost for a similar output... It all depends on what you plan to do with the car when finished.

I'm sure it is perfectly possible. The bigger problem might be stopping the thing!

A JAP engined A7 Special has been trialling with the VSCC for many years.

Fancy some hill climbs and general run to the pub etc VSCC events, yes please - but they just might throw me out of the carpark..

Would really love a JAP engine, locally one is for sale €15.000 !!! thats out... :-) something pre 70's would be nice but to have something reliable I guess expensive.... should have a little google other 500cc twins of a similar era...

I've been reading about Salamanda and Olivier Ways ! plus NZ Bills fantastic special - haa haa dangerous reading !!!

Have plenty of time as I'm still preparing the chassis :-)

You should be able to pick up a Vintage side-valve JAP engine for not a lot of money - no-one seems to want them!
