Usually the overflow is a 1/4" or smaller copper tube running from inside the radiator filler neck either through the neck or through the side of the header tank and down to low level at the side of the radiator. Specials may have a separate header tank, usually with a modern pressure cap, in which case the overflow runs from the neck of that tank just above the pressure seal.

If it's not an A7 system then that's a whole nother thing; and as Tony suggested you may need to go looking for a water pump.

My fairly highly tuned engine (without a water pump but with mechanical fan) runs pretty hot but never boils. Is there any value in fitting an electric fan?
