Just found the forum again after messing about on a fishing forum for years. Did a rewire and brake update on the Special last winter. Made the rear brake shoes 'floating.' A great improvement.

How did you do the floating shoes it would save a lot of messing about getting the shoes radiused to the drum.
Not quite sure what you mean Mark? The springs, and the plates on the bobbin and the actuator cam stop them from going anywhere they shouldn't. More details are on a couple of articles on the web, which is where I got the idea.
