Alternative use for a brake drum

I've been struggling getting the steering wheel off my traction engine.

Its mounted on a tapered square and was pulled onto the taper with a 3/4 whit nut. So it was pretty tight.

The wheel is cast iron too, so I was keen not to break it.

Its a difficult thing to use a puller on. After a bit of thought it dawned on me that a modified brake drum would be ideal.

I also had to grind the wheel mounting lugs off to. But I was successfull.

It will make the brakes on the seven a bit lumpy when you use that hub wouldn't it ?

If you'd cut through between the wheel stud holes it could have doubled up as a brake lining clearance checker.
