Rear Spring Pins & Bushes
#1
Would anyone know of an engineering firm capable of manufacturing rear spring pins and bushes for Austin Big 7. Unfortunately, Robin Taylor of the Big 7 register has none in stock and the previous person who manufactured them has died! I need  one pair myself and Robin is looking for about 20 pairs. The other problem is there is no technical drawing for them to be made from so would have to be made from a sample pin.

I wonder if this guy would be interested ? He appears to offer a professional engineering service specialising in making new, repairing and reverse engineering components for vintage machinery of all types - you can follow him on Facebook - his name is Paul Mayhead trading as vintagengineer and he's based in West Worthing, West Sussex. He's the guy that manufactures the Austin 7 half shaft spanners that can be found for sale on eBay.
His email is: paul@vintagengineer.com

Here's a link to his business Facebook page, he does some interesting stuff:

I should have thought those of our cherished suppliers who stock the standard A7 spring pin would have the necessary contacts and influence, if you can persuade them to either pass on info or take it on themselves. Have you tried talking to Jamie, David, Tony, etc? They don't usually bite!

Yes, thanks for your reply, have spoken with David regarding who supplies his pins, told me the are supplied from abroad and in quantities of 5000 they would not be interested in smaller amounts!
