The 8SWG spokes on my car are threaded 32TPI. Are new 32TPI nipples available in the UK?
I have been offered 40TPI nipples but then I have to replace all the spokes.
I note that to BSC standard 8SWG spokes should be threaded 40TPI, but did Austin deviate from this and make their 7 and 8SWG WITH 32TPI?
The wheels I have stripped all have ‘Austin script’ centres. No 40 TPI threads found on any..

I seem to remember that Austin Seven spokes are - like most vintage spokes - a BA size rather than cycle, Yes, they are 32 tpi.
Where you get them from I wouldn't know.

Have you tried our cherished suppliers such as MWS and Nick Mouat?

Thank you for your response to my questions.
Yes, I have been in contact with both the names that you mention.
It was Nick who told me that Austin spokes are to BSC specification.
BSC has a thread angle of 60degrees, BA has a 47.5degree 'profile', quite a difference.
I look forward to hearing from others.
To rebuild my wheels I have made a jig based on that described by Ian Moorcroft and also read the guidance on the Cornwall A7 Club's website, my thanks to both sources.

My apologies for suggesting it might not be cycle thread. 32 tpi is definitely not a BA size
5/32" or 8 AWG I believe.

No problem Ray, I too thought they may have been BA threaded until Nick put me right.
