They Still Turn Up
#1
Another barn find has appeared on ebay.

Seems this is a very late Ruby as the London FLA series didn't begin until November 1938.

Been off the road a while.

The fuel line to the carb takes an unusual route?  Perhaps an attempt to cure vapourisation??

Is it better or worse than it looks?  (Or vice versa?)

(I don't know the seller so usual disclaimers.)

The petrol pipe seems to reach the carb without involving the petrol pump!

Appears to have the plastic handbrake handle, one of the very last modifications and no sign of holes for a dashboard patent plate - same as TL 8106, my first Ruby and (still) the highest chassis number saloon.

Not registered at DVLA, which could be a struggle with their currently unhelpful attitude, despite the vendors comments.

It does indeed have “an amazing patina” At least the description was not written by an off duty estate agent playing with their AI machine. (Apologies to any estate agents reading their morning edition of the forum.)

I like the comment concerning the tyres - 'all 4 tyres need replacing as they are badly perished and don’t hold air.'
