Pedants corner. I was always told that studs should have a course thread for cast iron or alloy, and a fine thread for the nut. In the past I have used BSW/UNC bolts with the heads cut off, and threaded the shank BSF/UNF. Works for me.

Hi Folks,
Just a note about deep 9E sumps
I can get the engine out of my EB 65 with the deep sump in situ.
I do have to remove the front mounting studs to get the engine out though.
Its not easy to do as the engine has to be removed level not tipped.
