As per thread title !!!!!
I simply cannot get my very very very expensive rebuilt engine (coil) to run properly ????
there is a constant misfire, that I can only guess is electrical/ignition ???
I've simply run out of ideas and if it continues ,I'll be throwing a gallon of unleaded over it and a box of swan vestas .
Just changed condenser, still the same, so coil next I guess, what's the best one to fit (6v) ???
Or is anybody near me, West Norfolk, that can pop by for a look ?

Never forget...if you think it is ignition it is probably fuel - and vice versa.
More info needed. Has it ever run properly? What work has been done to the engine? Were all the ancillaries working before being put on the engine?

Hi Nick,
It used to 'fly along' (at Curborough & Kop Hill) , but then started to 'misfire under load', at Kop last year.
The engine needed a rebuild, but I'm still on the 'old' dizzy/coil/etc.
It's now been fitted with a SU, and after the rebuild started 'on the button' & ran OK for 60/70 miles.
but now starts missing only after 2-3 mile ( when warm )???
Only use E5. Any thoughts ???

It sounds like the coil breaking down, what plugs are you using?

Hi Ivor, I'm leaning to the coil too, but what one to consider.
Fitted a Distributor Doctor condenser this evening, no change

Have you spoken to the person who built it?

Where are you in 'West Norfolk'? I'm north of Cambridge but I get to March occasionally, and I have been dealing with A7 problems for 65 years.
