Your second photo taken at Chandos shows the maroon 'prototype Ulster' of Jon and Nimmy Mellor, in front of them is the Paxton special of Stewart Rich and his partner Francine.   I assisted Andy Hastings in the build of the Ulsteroid and after it was finished we built a similar car finished in white which I used for several years.  It is still owned by a friend who uses it for VSCC trials.
The Paxton is a very effective car, the light body has been reinforced over the years.  When Francine isn't trialling she is a keen horse woman, taking part in 'Sealed Knot' events where she is dressed up as a Cavalier (or is it a Round Head?) galloping along on a huge horse with a black powder pistol in each hand!

The Paxton design was featured in The Automobile about 30+ years ago.

Been getting the Brookfields ready for the SWA7 club trip to north Wales.  We set off on Monday for four nights. 8 cars at the last count but the weather does not look good.

Hi All

Met up with three other cars at Llanwrthwl then drove up to Bodelwyddan via Llanidloes, Clwedog, Dolgellau and Bettws y coed.  Cold and sometimes wet  . 127 miles on the odometer.

Here we are in Llanidloes for a lunch break.
