The beat sounds odd to me..I guess the engine is 3 cyl. I regularly travelled by train when stem was still in use here. (The Austin was often in bits). I worked about a mile beyond the Dunedin station. The southern express left about 4.30 pm and being soon uphill used to charge out. With the cold climate the whole very specatcular.
I dunno how repair masonry. Presumably can remove one at a time and cement back in. Or do they dowel above and below and hold with a jack?
