Hi John-Peter,

Just a very quick reply for now - ref Car Number B 6230 Chassis Number 103458 is just a general indication of your cars build date, as not every single car number and chassis number is listed in Wyatt's book.

This may help in finding the Chassis Number - just to mention back in those days in the UK it wasn't called a 'VIN' though it is now on cars built since around the mid to late 1950's.

sadly as a B-series, there will be no ledger information on the factory build spec and trim of the car. If it had been a month or so earlier or later, you may have been lucky.

As Mike infers, its due to the Index cars being found quite recently that all this pedantry starts to rear its head. None of this "matters" in the grander scheme of human planetry destruction but it gives something else to study - and learn from. And populate forum discussions with.
