Thanks for all the replies,
I checked the security of the radius arm nuts and they were TIGHT.
I then removed the quadrant and checked it against the old one and it was obviously tighter being new. So I chamferd the edges and cleaned up the cable grove then thoroughly greased the cable and quadrant and then refitted and checked for free movement of the cable.
I also lightly sanded the new linings on both wheels refitted everything and then went for a quick run.
The brakes worked fine pulling me up in a straight line with no pulling to the left.
So I am concluding that the new quadrant previously fitted was just a smidgen tight and just required fettling.
