Everyone's wisdom has been put to good use and the reconstruction of the RL roof is moving forwards again.
Many thanks!

WOW !! That's quite a bit of work for the RN, over to you Martin (gulp)

Jon,
The RN exit hole from the gutter is not at the front but underneath the front roof section as shown in Dave Mann’s photo. Cheers, Dave.

Yes, it's the RL and RM that discharge through the timber. Austin no doubt found they had complaints with that system (surprise) so looked to 'improve' things with the RN.

Blimey what speed are you doing to get the water to flow up the drain Dave? I've never experienced that and I can report our RN sunshine roofs are leak free. We are approaching the leaf fall season so checking of the drains for leaves is a regular service job, not mentioned in the makers manual.

Must be the way I rebuilt the gutter holes Dave.I made them out of our kid's bike frame. If it's really bad weather I could plug the holes with a bit of plastic foam. The whole roof was completely disconnected from the windscreen pillars at one stage due to rot and on my daily commute to work in the 60's I had to hang on to the door on a certain bend to stop it flying open.

Ah now I understand, if the drains leak it can cause serious corrosion of the peak and A posts, one of our RNs had lost most of it's peak and OS A post.
