You might find this stuff handy. It's bendier than some.

This is what I was considering as it was recommended by someone.

Says it's flexible but I must admit it doesn't actually specify the number and size of the copper strands.

The cable in Colin's link from AES every time. It is very, very flexible and will go around pretty much anything. On top of that, AES are old car people who understand what old cars and their owners are about and deserve our support.

I completely rewired my Special last year including fitting a battery isolator.
Purchased  components from AES of Tenbury Wells which included a crimping tool that was invaluable.
They also sell a range of braided wiring and battery cable if you wish to keep it period.
I crimped all battery and starter connections (6v) and have so far experience no problems .

I always solder them - not had any problems with that.
Thickest battery cable is the one to use 300 amp is what I use, especially with bacon slicer starters.

To help you decide, 25 square mm cable will drop 0.4V per metre at 300 Amps, and 35 square mm will drop 0.3 V per metre. You'll need to add up the total length of flow and return cables. My target would be to keep the drop below 10% i.e. 0.6 V for a 6V system or 1.2 V for a 12V one.

I'm not sure about welding cable, you don't want it to be too flexible or it will need a lot of cleating.
