Unless the weather is especially hot (for the UK!) or I am expecting to be running in stop/start traffic or in hilly countryside, I always run with the fan belt slackened off so that the (2-blade) fan is just freewheeling; the car has never got close to overheating.

One lesson advancing years has taught me is to manhandle the car by turning the wheels rather than heaving on the bodywork. It is much kinder to both vehicle and driver.

All mine fit so well in their various homes there is no chance of any of them being started to drive out!.
