John is quite correct.
Have a look at your float chamber and your illustration. If a brass affair is screwed into hole 3 you probably have the right arrangement. If there is no brass insert but the hole has a visible thread the vital component is missing. If there is a hole with no thread (by design - a stripped thread is not good!) then you have the version with the cast in, pre set dimension, so also ok.
As John says, a missing brass thingummy will result in a flat spot in transition between jets 1 & 2.
