I did the MCC trials for quite a few years in my Gordon England Cup Model, it was converted to 12v and made it through the night no problem.
Didn't remove any leaves from any of the springs either.
You'll love it once you get to the end and have a pint, not so much at about 3am when its freezing cold and raining....
