Engine had been running fine, and then a week or so back it took me home no problem, but didn't sound right next day. It started instantly but was noisier than normal. It ticked over ok but sounded different. Out on the road it was very short of power, but still got me the few miles I was going.

So, noisy, doesn't sound right and well down on power. What could it be?

I have now found the cause, but thought you might like to come up with ideas. In a couple of days I'll reveal what I found.
