copper rivet punch

This is the punch that I have. It has a domed end that sits in the hollow of the rivet so that, when struck, the end of the rivet expands and rolls over making a neat job (most of the time!) It has to be struck dead square, however. The slot is to Miss the web on Austin 7 (and Triumph motorcycle)  aluminium brake shoes to ensure it is square on to the rivet. I use a suitably sized pin punch to rest the rivet head on as an anvil and an assistant to hold the work square on. Works for both brake and clutch linings.
