Also after cleaning a fine smear of special "contact grease" to help prevent spark and corrosion.  My last purchase was from RS and came on a syringe like tube.  Has lasted many, many, many years.  I used to use it when at sea on many of the ships electronic/electrical equipments.

That's also interesting.  Given the amount of salt they put on our roads in the winter, it makes for a neat comparison!
