A friend has a 16/6 and a spare engine, I am aware they have some issues, timing chain slip is one, but these could possibly be engineered out. The reasoning behind this option was staying in period and remaining Austin, the 12/4 engine has a lousy inlet port, the 16/6 is pretty good and has a nice Ricardo chamber, probably would not be the most competitive car but likely to be heaps of fun. I just love the Idea of the aero engined Edwardians and think it would be fun to build one in miniature on a seven chassis, the object being to remain in period and not use post war engines.
