Perhaps I can have the last word on this overtaxed subject.
Firstly I was not aware that it had been discussed before simply because I have been 'off air' for a longish period with a multitude of PC problems.
Secondly I was due to man the gate at the event to assist the organisers and was totally unaware of the no dog rule which I actually fully understand and respect.
I was regularly in contact with Peter Lawson and we were working out the details of how the event main gate would be manned and all seemed OK
It was only when I read the 'small print' I became aware that dogs were not permitted and I'm not sure who was the most disappointed, Peter or I, but it is what it is
Thirdly As both my dogs are both rescues and very very nervous we can't leave them with anyone, having made the commitment to care for them we stick by it even if it costs us.
Fourthly I have always wished the Centenary the success it deserves after the Herculean efforts of all the organising committee and I am genuinely disappointed at not being able to attend hence my enthusiasm for Beaulieu and indeed the other shows I will hopefully be attending through this year.
Sincere apologies if my initial post has been misconstrued, that was never my intention.
On a brighter note my RN hit the road yesterday for the first time after some winter fettling and performed flawlessly much to my surprise and quickly reminded me why we are so passionate about these wonderful cars.
