The car was last restored 32years ago, its only been here 5, Father kept it very nice. But I agree with Malcolm
The engine bay got a swill off with some white spirit before that engine went in. The engine got tarted up also, scotchbright and diesel on the ali, paint for the iron. Some red on the fan. I do not expect the paint on the manifold to last. I also 'blacked up' the Bosch clone dizzy, it had got decidedly tatty.
I did smarten up some of the wiring with shrinkwrap also. But really its more or less as restored in 1990.
I have had some excellent advice re my clutch issue, suggesting the clutch bearing may be binding on the gearbox nose and thus not releasing the toggles. I shall investigate this before taking it out. One can live in hope!
