The spare halfshaft I have here is for a very late Ruby (from Chassis No. 286571) heavy axle is 24 1/8" long. I presume those for Big Sevens are longer?
This one is about 1" in diameter - 1015 thou close to the gear, and about 970 thou along the rest of the length to the taper.
(Apparently, this diameter appeared on Big Sevens at Chassis No. 5687, and then intermittently for a while, and permanently from 7841 in March 1938. Previously it was the same as the Ruby of the time at 890 thou close to the gear.)
The taper on this shaft for a heavy axle is about 2" long. The keyway is 1 7/16" in length and 7/32" wide.
