Hi,
This is not on an A7 but as your question is quite open here's what I made for the same purpose on my Sandford's gearbox.
The reverse is left/front and the first rear/front so I was really afraid to break the gearbox if I missed the 1st to second.

Of course the gear lever is very short and that allows me to push with my little finger to unlock.
