They have missed a trick by not presenting it in a different way; i.e. by rewarding those who see the new way rather than penalising those who hanker for the old.
Surely this is something which will spread through the A7 clubs too, as the price of making and distributing physical objects rises above inflation. Once again though we are back to whether the material is really up to being archived in such a way, in modern times? It is a luxury and we need to wean ourselves off it. Things like the e-newsletters which go out to the Scottish club are surely the way forward. (The case I'd suggest is the fact that the early years social/sporting events/car sales after new car production are important historically. Ones now are surely less so.)
The London club's printed output has improved massively since lockdown as genuinely worthy information is being printed, but as it is largely information recycled from other clubs, it could equally well be just emailed, leaving any really important material coming from clubs to be considered for being lodged within the printed Association publication. and for regional clubs, a far-reduced membership rate for those just taking emailed newsletter content.. and a few physical mags laser-printed for those who really aren't able to cope with email but are prepared to pay.
Sadly, we are still generally a race of resource consumers, and it will gradually change whether we like it or not. Being able to "recycle paper" is a convenient screen - we need to be making less.
