The thread measures either 26 tpi or 1.0mm depending which thread gauge I use. The o/d of the thread is .234", which is 2 thou less than 6mm, but a way off .250". A 1/4" bsf stud will not go into the female, so my thread must be M6 and not 1/4" bsf.

Apologies. It never entered my head that a Seven might have a metric thread as standard. I had assumed an imperial fitting and made the short cut from 26 tpi to 1/4" bsf.

Just shows that the only way to be sure is to test fit a known item.
