Yes indeed, "20 000 miles South" by Frank Schneider - taking an amphibious jeep from the USA to the tip of South America in the 1960s.
Also "Turn Left the Riffs have Risen" by A. Cameron Gilg. The story of a wealthy man and "his driver" i.e servant, taking a Morris Minor from England to Cape Town in the 1930s.
Both excellent if a little difficult to find.
