The vehicle IS taxed until 1st July 2021 and has a V5C issued in July 2015 - see DVLA page below:
The reason it's showing no MOT / MOT expired is because it's now MOT exempt - i.e. it doesn't need an MOT.

As Zeto has alluded to, if a vehicle is on the DVLA database then it will have or will have had a V5 / V5C at some point since the first introduction of the V5 which replaced the old green logbooks over a period of time between the early 1970's through to the early 1980's.
