Just had a similar experience with a large firm of solicitors. I paid to their client account the stamp duty to be paid to the Land registry. Helas the lockdown happened and they will not answer my emails and when they did their excuses was we are looking to locate your file as they are working for home. In August I request the return of my funds complete silence, after a two month sending emails and trying to call, I went online and issued proceeding against the firm. I Checked my bank today the funds where credited to my account this morning. What a relief I have been living a nightmare for six months not knowing if my funds where safe or if the firm has gone to the wall.
I know how you feel and as Ivor said you've been extremely patient.
