Hi 12jslater, Have you considered that you may have an intermittent short on the low tension wiring. Try disconnecting the wiring to the coil both sides and insulating them for safety. Then make temporary wires one from coil to dizzy and one from the battery to the coil. You will need a switch in this wire in order to switch off and on the ignition. If you car then runs satisfactory then you have proved you have a short circuit.
